2 Min Read

X-Plane is a well-known flight simulator created by Laminar Research. It includes a first-principles physics engine, realistic aircraft systems, and a diverse selection of aircraft.

To explore the engineering behind a flight simulator, we invited Ben Supnik to the show. Ben is a software engineer at Laminar and has been working on X-Plane for two decades. He joins the show with Kevin Ball to discuss X-Plane and his career with the simulator.

Kevin Ball, also known as KBall, is the vice president of engineering at Mento and an independent coach for engineers and engineering leaders. He co-founded and was the CTO for two companies, founded the San Diego JavaScript meetup, and organizes the AI inaction discussion group via Latent Space.
