Get ready for some midnight margaritas, because the Owens sisters have returned!

The witches from the 1998 film “Practical Magic” are back for a long-awaited sequel, directed by Susanne Bier and penned by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett. “Practical Magic 2” is inspired by Alice Hoffman’s final novel in the “Practical Magic” series, “The Book of Magic.”

Set 25 years after the original movie, “Practical Magic 2” finds Sally and Gillian (played by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman) continuing their magical practices in Massachusetts with their aunts Frances and Jet (Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest). They still face a love curse.

Sally’s daughters, portrayed by Joey King and Maisie Williams, play a more significant role in this sequel. In the original film, Kylie and Antonia Owens were portrayed by Evan Rachel Wood and Alexandra Artrip. Wood has confirmed she was not asked to reprise her role for the sequel.

As the story unfolds, family secrets surface that challenge three generations of Owens women to combat their ancestral curse, taking them on a journey from Massachusetts to the United Kingdom.

The teaser trailer for “Practical Magic 2” revisits classic moments from the original, including the iconic midnight margaritas scene featuring Harry Nilsson’s “Coconut.” It also presents new faces, such as Lee Pace, who joins as a new companion for Sally and Gillian’s adventures.

“Practical Magic 2” is set for a theatrical release on September 11.
