WhatsApp Plus is being introduced initially to a limited number of Android users, with iOS support to follow. WhatsApp users can now access new customization features for a fee. As per WABetaInfo, Meta is launching a WhatsApp Plus subscription for select users, offering cosmetic and convenience perks like exclusive stickers, various app themes, custom app icons, premium ringtones, the capability to pin up to 20 chats, and bulk custom settings for chat lists.
A WABetaInfo screenshot shows the subscription costing €2.49 monthly, akin to Snapchat Plus, which is priced at $3.99 a month and offers similar benefits. Currently, WhatsApp Plus is supported only in WhatsApp Messenger, not WhatsApp Business, with a focus on Android. iOS support is expected later.
Last month, Meta began testing an Instagram Plus subscription offering exclusive Story-related features, such as creating different Story audiences and extending Story duration beyond 24 hours.
