A new program addresses a critical U.S. issue—healthcare. Mary Minno, an ex-Google product manager, launched Treehub, a startup accelerator, and AI Health Fund, a venture firm supporting healthcare-AI startups. The six-month residency helps founders with product-market fit and company direction. Minno’s personal experiences with medical challenges inspired this initiative. She partnered with Esther Wojcicki to encourage health innovation and assist academics in commercializing research.

The program connects operators with academic founders to teach entrepreneurship. Treehub and the AI Health Fund, backed by academics from Stanford, aim to support startups with early-stage funding. The fund raised $1.5 million, with contributions from family and Tim Draper. Anne Wojcicki joins as an operating partner.

The AI Health Fund aims to back 60 companies, some outside the Treehub program. It has already supported 12 startups, including Clair Health and a new pediatric autism company. Treehub’s aim is to support founders from inception. Minno and Wojcicki emphasize personalized guidance over traditional accelerator models. There’s no demo day as companies grow at different rates.

The residency’s initial phase seeks to determine the scalability of different aspects, with a vision for nationwide expansion. Minno’s goal is to ensure success for each company they collaborate with.
