X has launched a new feature using Grok. So far, users have reacted positively to X’s new custom timeline feature. This feature resembles TweetDeck, now rebranded as X Pro, and allows users to create custom feeds for specific topics. The feature, powered by the xAI tool Grok, is currently available to Premium subscribers on iOS, with Android support coming soon, as announced by head of product Nikita Bier. This feature personalizes timelines for every user, working best for topics previously engaged with, according to Bier. X also released a video demonstrating the feature. Podcaster Aakash Gupta highlighted that users can create up to 75 custom timelines, suggesting a potential increase in data for xAI training. While users are keen to try the feature, there’s some confusion, often typical for new-feature rollouts. Bier advised updating the app for the new feature, mentioning future support for religion-focused feeds. Bier also pointed out the new “snooze topics” feature to filter unwanted content, available for iOS and web Premium users. General feedback shows users’ interest in specific topics like Ukraine, manufacturing, Bitcoin, and memes. While some users remain skeptical, they are open to testing it. X user @syssignals noted content overlap across timelines but anticipates improvement over time. Similarly, @Hoxygo appreciated separating tech from sports without needing a new account, but questioned if the algorithm respects timeline boundaries.
