The company’s smallest wireless mic introduces voice presets for prioritizing clarity or enhancing lower tones. Following DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4 launch earlier this month, they have unveiled a new version of their smallest wireless microphone system. The DJI Mic Mini 2, while not significantly different from the original debut in November 2024, now features a swappable magnetic cover system, customizable to make the microphones either stand out or blend in with an outfit.
Similar to the Osmo Pocket 4 and recent Lito drones, DJI does not plan to release the Mic Mini 2 in the US, but it’s available in other markets. Starting at €59 (around $69), the bundle includes a single mic transmitter, a compact USB-C wireless receiver, and a charging case. Additional bundles are offered, like a €99 (around $116) option with two mic transmitters, a larger wireless receiver for cameras, and a fitting charging case. Obsidian black and glaze white magnetic covers come standard, with 12 more colorful alternatives sold separately.
The Mic Mini 2 transmitters are slightly bigger and heavier due to the redesign for the covers, yet remain much smaller than Insta360 Mic Pro’s transmitters, which will include a customizable color E Ink screen. The battery lasts 11.5 hours for the Mic Mini 2 with ANC off, and 10.5 hours for the receiver, maintaining a wireless range just over 1,312 feet. There’s no redundant on-mic recording yet, though DJI teased a Mic Mini 2S version with that feature, expected to be announced this summer.
