NYT Connections Sports Edition: Clues and Solutions for April 30, 2026

Everything necessary to solve Connections Sports Edition #584.

Today’s Connections: Sports Edition will require knowledge of popular U.S. sports and pop culture. This game is a version of the popular New York Times word game that tests sports fans’ knowledge. Like the original Connections, the game involves finding common threads between words. Similar to Wordle, Connections resets after midnight, and each new set of words gets trickier, so we’ve provided some hints and tips.

What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The NYT’s latest daily word game has launched with The Athletic. The sports Connections can be played on web browsers and mobile devices and require players to group four words that share something in common. Each puzzle features 16 words, split into four categories, such as book titles, software, or country names. Multiple words may seem to fit, but there’s only one correct answer. If players get all four words in a set correct, they’re removed from the board. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with up to four allowed before the game ends. Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to spot connections easier. Each group is color-coded: yellow is easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share results on social media.
