Google Launches Native Gemini App for Mac

1 Min Read

Google revealed that it has launched a native Gemini app for Mac, following competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic, who have had Mac apps for a while. “You can now access Gemini anywhere on your Mac using a shortcut (Option + Space) for instant help without switching tabs,” stated Google. “Whether you’re drafting a report or building a spreadsheet, you can get answers quickly and return to work.” The app allows sharing anything on your screen with Gemini, including local files, to receive assistance. For instance, you can view a complex chart and ask for key takeaways to get a summary. Additionally, the app can generate images using Nano Banana and create videos with Veo. The Mac app is available to all Gemini users on macOS 15 and above worldwide, starting today. Download it at gemini.google/mac.
