Deezer announced that AI-generated tracks now account for 44% of new music uploads to its platform, with approximately 75,000 AI-generated tracks uploaded daily, totaling over two million per month. Although consumption of AI-generated music remains at 1-3% of total streams, 85% are flagged as fraudulent and demonetized. Deezer has seen a rise in AI music uploads since launching its AI-music detection tool in January 2025. AI-tagged songs are excluded from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists; hi-res versions are no longer stored. An AI track recently topped iTunes charts globally. Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier emphasized the need to protect artists’ rights and maintain transparency. A survey conducted last November revealed that 97% of respondents couldn’t distinguish between AI-generated and human-made music, with 52% opposing chart inclusion and 80% supporting clear labeling of AI music. Deezer began tagging AI tracks in June 2025, identifying over 13.4 million since. Other platforms like Qobuz, Spotify, and Apple Music have introduced similar initiatives.
