Elon Musk’s image poses challenges. In the legal clash between Musk and Sam Altman over OpenAI’s alleged broken promises, jury selection was complicated by many potential jurors disliking Musk. Some comments from juror questionnaires included calling Musk “a greedy, racist, homophobic piece of garbage” and “a world-class jerk.” Musk’s lawyers sought to remove those with negative views, but Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers noted, “The reality is that people don’t like him… Many people don’t like him, but that doesn’t mean Americans can’t have integrity for the judicial process.” Despite these sentiments, the selected jury comprised individuals who vowed not to let personal opinions of Musk or AI cloud their judgment of the case.
