Tinder Aims to Attract More Women Users, Says CEO

Spencer Rascoff has challenged the idea that people have lost interest in dating apps. Tinder, a dating app, aims to attract more women to the platform, as stated by its CEO. “Winning women is critical to us,” said Rascoff, who became CEO of Tinder and its parent company, Match Group, in July 2025. He emphasized the importance of gender parity, stating the need to improve outcomes for women to encourage their use of the app.

Tinder’s user base is predominantly male, with a 2022 Pew Research Center report highlighting that 34% of American men and 27% of women have used a dating app. Despite the gender imbalance, Rascoff aims to reverse the decline in Tinder’s revenue and paying users observed in 2024 and 2025. He plans to move Tinder away from a hookup reputation to appeal to Gen Z, who are reportedly steering away from hookup culture.

While some users express fatigue and cynicism towards dating apps, Hinge, another Match Group property, has seen growth in revenue and users over the past years. Rascoff intends to increase Tinder’s user base by focusing on overall growth rather than just paid users. He dismisses the idea that people dislike dating apps, attributing dissatisfaction to ineffective platforms.

Recent Tinder updates include a feature called Chemistry, an AI-driven matchmaker, indicating ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and attract a wider audience.
