Google Translate has turned 20, and to mark the occasion, it has introduced a feature allowing users to practice pronunciation and enunciation in various languages. When translating, users can access the “Practice” menu and select “Pronounce,” which provides phonetics to help practice speaking the translated text. The app evaluates pronunciation and offers feedback like “Some sounds were a little unclear,” and users can also hear the app’s pronunciation. This feature is launching in the U.S. and India with support for English, Spanish, and Hindi. Similar to Duolingo, it aids in practicing oral skills. Last month, Google expanded its real-time headphone translation feature to iOS and increased availability in Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, Italy, the UK, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
