What is Connections?
The NYT’s recent word game has become a social media sensation. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for co-creating the game, now part of the publication’s Games section. Accessible via browsers and mobile devices, Connections requires players to group four related words.
Each puzzle consists of 16 words, divided into four categories, ranging from book titles to countries. Despite apparent connections, only one answer is correct. Correctly grouping all four words removes them, while errors accumulate—players have up to four chances before the game ends. Players can shuffle the board for better clarity.
