Desi Lydic Reacts to Marco Rubio’s Use of Rap Lyrics on Iran

1 Min Read

Secretary of State Marco Rubio frequently incorporates rap lyrics into his significant speeches.

His latest instance? He referred to the top government officials in Iran as “insane in the brain,” seemingly referencing a 1993 song by Cypress Hill.

“Really, Marco?” comments Daily Show host Desi Lydic in the clip above. “It’s somewhat inappropriate to talk about old rap lyrics while discussing war. Can you imagine your doctor saying, ‘If you’re looking for the tumor on this scan, whoomp, there it is. Unfortunately, it’s spread from the windows to the wall…'”

Lydic then shows a montage of other occasions when Rubio used rap lyrics in speeches, before touching her ear piece.

“I’m sorry,” she says, “we’re receiving breaking news that rap is no longer cool.”
