Kelsey Impicciche has perfected her content creation setup over her 12-year career on YouTube, where she shares videos playing The Sims, Animal Crossing, and other games, gaining millions of followers under the handle @kelseydangerous. She previously worked at BuzzFeed, gaining fame for her video “Single Girl Tries The 100 Baby Challenge In The Sims 4,” which has 24 million views. Impicciche uses two Alienware monitors and records audio with a Shure mic plugged into a Zoom H6 audio recorder. Her filming and streaming setup has evolved over time, emphasizing learning through experience.
Impicciche discussed her essentials at BookCon, including Cyberpower PCs and Alienware monitors. “I need a PC that can handle The Sims because it’s a huge game,” she said, highlighting her use of customizable Cyberpower PC towers and Elgato capture cards for streaming.
For monitors, she uses two Alienware models, one standard and one curved. A good pair of headphones is crucial for filming and gaming, and she favors HyperX Cloud and Logitech G735 headphones. Whether streaming or filming, she uses a Canon C100 with a 24-70mm lens connected to her PC via another Elgato capture card.
Impicciche’s audio setup features a Shure SM7B microphone and a Zoom H6 audio recorder. Her microphone uses a splitter to feed into both the Zoom H6 for video recording and an audio mixer that connects to her streaming PC.
Lighting is key in content creation. Her setup includes two Elgato key lights. Her setup for TikTok is simpler, using her iPhone and a Rode mic that plugs into the phone.
