Meta’s new Incognito Chat AI ensures message privacy by deleting interactions once the chat session ends. Unlike other AI, Meta claims it doesn’t log conversations, offering true privacy with end-to-end encryption. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlights it as the first major AI product without server-stored logs, making it different from existing incognito modes that still track interactions. For contrast, Google retains temporary chat data up to 72 hours in Gemini, and ChatGPT keeps it up to 30 days. Lawsuits related to stored chat logs include past cases against ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. Incognito Chat, using technology first used in WhatsApp, will soon be available on WhatsApp and the Meta AI app.
