‘Contextual suggestions’ will recommend actions based on your daily habits.
Google is introducing a new AI-driven “contextual suggestions” feature for Android users that recommends actions based on their daily routines, as reported by Android Authority. The feature predicts users’ next actions based on location and habits, such as music apps suggesting playlists when arriving at the gym.
Previously available in the Play Services beta, Google has expanded it to the stable channel. Although Google hasn’t formally announced the launch, journalists from Android Authority and 9to5Google have observed it on Pixel 10 devices with Android 16, where it seems to be enabled by default.
Details of the notifications are unknown. However, publications have shared that users can control data access, like disabling location use. The privacy settings state that work occurs in an encrypted space and that data isn’t shared with Google or third parties.
Google describes the space where AI predicts helpful information, such as suggesting to cast sports games to the TV at the right time. Android Authority suggests similarities to the Magic Cue feature from the Pixel 10, which recommends contextual information like addresses. Google hasn’t confirmed a wider release for non-Pixel phones, but a support page notes that Android 14 or later is needed for audio and video casting.
We’ve contacted Google for more details on launch timelines and device support. To check availability, go to Settings > Google Services > All services > Other on your Android phone.
