The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool employs on-device AI to locate and direct airflow towards people as they move. Dyson has introduced a new air purifying fan with AI capability, marking the first time a stationary unit uses a camera for human tracking. Previously, Dyson incorporated cameras and AI in robotic vacuum cleaners. The Find+Follow Purifier Cool uses this technology to target fresh air at individuals and conserve energy by shutting off when the room is empty. Available now for $894.99 online and in stores, it can capture 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, eliminating odors, allergens, and viruses. The purifier can connect to Wi-Fi for remote adjustments and processes images locally to ensure privacy, without recognizing individuals. The camera serves solely for presence detection, deleting images after analysis. The camera setup may seem excessive compared to simpler sensors, but it aligns with Dyson’s complex engineering approach. The purifier smartly tracks individual movements and adjusts airflow accordingly, especially in multi-person scenarios, enhancing flow when pollutants rise. It is compatible with Matter for integration into smart homes, including Apple Home and Google Home.
