During a surprise Direct presentation, the company announced a new game. Titled simply “Star Fox,” it marks the return of the franchise after a decade. This game is inspired by “Star Fox 64,” featuring redesigned characters and upgraded visuals, effectively modernizing the classic space shooter experience. Players can expect several vehicles to pilot, including a submarine, enhanced with vividly realistic character models like Slippy Toad. New features include online play, a four-on-four multiplayer dogfighting mode, and interactive avatars. While modern controls are available, the option for using an N64 controller retains a nostalgic touch. Priced at $49.99 for digital download, the physical version’s price remains unspecified. Star Fox is set to launch on June 25th as part of a sparse 2026 lineup, joining titles like “Yoshi and the Mysterious Book” and “Rhythm Heaven Groove.”
