The dazzling Dreame Aurora Lux outshines the Trump phone in every aspect. We’ve inquired yet again about the elusive Trump phone, but this week, Trump Mobile has been outdone.
This week didn’t bring any updates on the Trump phone, but it’s not the only promised phone I have to ponder. Dreame, known for robot vacuums, introduced its own line of hypothetical phones, one of which intensifies the Trump phone approach significantly.
Just after filing last week’s piece about the T1 Phone’s PTCRB certification, I learned about Dreame’s new phones, despite their flashy unveiling in San Francisco last Thursday. They had been announced in China in March, but without details like release date or specs, they seem like vaporware, though still more legitimate than a company associated with accusations of deception by lawmakers.
At least Dreame showcased physical phones at its event, unlike Trump Mobile. They aim high with their ambitious phones, which may never launch. One boasts modularity with detachable accessories, while the Aurora Lux claims 29 extravagant designs, featuring gems and gold.
The design names are as extravagant as the phones. The Axiom Shield resembles a snakeskin-covered Pixel 10, while the Luxe Loop Sanctuary bedsazzles the camera island with gems. The Imperial Totem sports a glittering peacock, and many are gold: Golden Age coats the phone in a textured gold pattern, turning the gem-ringed camera into a golden clock—a clear nod to Trump’s aesthetic.
Dreame’s event, with its models and rocket cars, starkly contrasted Trump Mobile’s modest New York launch nearly a year ago. Why can a vacuum company outshine the Trumps in spectacle?
Dreame’s phones and event reflect ambition missing in Trump Mobile’s midrange T1 Phone. If you’re promoting a phone, make it exciting.
I won’t be updating weekly on Dreame’s non-releases, as they lack the political intrigue of Trump Mobile. Plus, Dreame isn’t soliciting $100 deposits for potential non-launches, a credit to them. If Dreame delivers one of its fantasy phones before Trump Mobile, it would indeed be remarkable.
