The Pentagon has launched a new website featuring photos, transcripts, reports, and recordings. Recently, they opened an investigation into a 1972 NASA photo from the Apollo 17 mission showing three unidentified dots above the lunar horizon. This initiative is part of a broader effort to examine unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), formerly known as UFOs. The archive includes records from NASA, the FBI, and intelligence agencies. Administration promises additional files will be released in stages on the new platform, which has a nostalgic X-Files feel.
Astronauts have always featured prominently in UFO lore due to their observational training. While some strange reports have later been linked to equipment or natural phenomena, the government continues its investigations. Although there’s no proof of extraterrestrial life, many cases remain unresolved due to insufficient data.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman praised the transparency initiative, underscoring NASA’s commitment to exploration and knowledge.
Newly disclosed materials detail astronaut encounters from Gemini 7, Apollo 11, Apollo 12, Apollo 17, and Skylab missions, including observations of unidentified objects, strange lights, and drifting particles. These historical records are garnering fresh attention as the Pentagon digs deeper into UAP investigations.
