Over the weekend, the full version of Playground Games’ upcoming game, Forza Horizon 6, leaked online and was rapidly cracked by pirates. This occurred after some Steam users reportedly accessed an unencrypted preload of the game, leading to the game’s files appearing on file-sharing sites. Although Forza Horizon 6 is set for an official release on May 19th for Xbox Series S/X and PC, cracks to bypass the game’s online checks are already accessible. Reddit users first spotted more than 150GB of game files online before they were removed by Reddit’s legal operations team. Previously, a pre-release version of Death Stranding 2 on PC faced a similar situation due to an encrypted Steam preload. It’s unclear why both games were unencrypted during the preload period, and comments from Microsoft regarding the Forza leak are pending. Forza Horizon 6 promises to let players explore Japan, featuring Tokyo’s neon-lit landscape, the largest map yet in the series, and over 550 cars at launch. Additionally, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios are working to bring the game to PS5 later this year.
