Dell introduced its new entry-level Alienware gaming laptop, the Alienware 15, on May 14, following its teaser four months ago at CES. It’s now available for purchase starting at $1,299.99 from Dell.
The price is higher than anticipated. A prior announcement suggested the Alienware 15 would be sold at their “most accessible price point yet,” expected to be around $1,000 or less. But at $200 more than last year’s base 16 Aurora, the increased cost reflects the current laptop market conditions. A Dell representative attributed the pricing to the rising cost of RAM due to a global RAM shortage driven by AI center construction, noting that the Alienware 15 is competitively priced in this context.
Despite being pricier than expected, the Alienware 15 remains the most affordable model in the 2026 Alienware lineup. It sits alongside the 16/16X Aurora and the high-end 16/18 Area-51 gaming laptops, starting at $1,639.99 and $2,599.99 respectively. Dell plans to offer regular promotions on the Alienware 15.
In addition to gaming gear, Dell is launching new mid-range consumer laptops called the Dell 14S and 16S. These come with sleek aluminum bodies, OLED display options, and up to 26 hours of battery life, starting at $1,269.99 and $1,319.99. They are available from May 14, with more variants featuring AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series CPUs arriving soon.
The Alienware 15 is designed with an “essentials-only aesthetic,” featuring a sleek metallic Nova Black finish and a holographic logo. It has white keyboard backlighting rather than showy RGB accents, making it suitable for office or classroom use.
The laptop measures 0.81 to 0.9 inches thick and weighs 4.85 to 4.96 pounds. It features a different hinge design with a straightforward rear exhaust system for cooling. Its construction includes a polycarbonate resin lid and bottom cover, ensuring the build quality matches higher-end machines.
Under the hood, the Alienware 15 offers options for an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 or AMD Ryzen 200 Series processor, with cheaper AMD configurations. Graphics options include Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060, 5050, 4050, and 3050 GPUs, with the latter available later. The RTX 50 Series has a unique thermal structure for enhanced airflow.
