ESP32-S3 PowerFeather V2 Board Now Supports LiFePO4/LFP Batteries

ESP32-S3 PowerFeather V2 Board Now Supports LiFePO4/LFP Batteries

1 Min Read

The ESP32-S3 PowerFeather V2 board is a WiFi and BLE IoT device featuring an Adafruit Feather form, compatible with LiFePO4/LFP, Li-Ion, and LiPo batteries, and supporting solar panels with up to 18V DC input.

As expected, this is an update to the ESP32-S3 PowerFeather board that debuted in 2024. While the V2 design remains largely unchanged, it incorporates an Analog Devices MAX17260 fuel gauge and a TPS631013 buck-boost regulator to stabilize 3.3 V, supporting LiFePO4 batteries. These batteries are reputedly safer and more durable than Li-Ion or LiPo batteries, albeit offering lower energy density.
