Apple has enhanced its Sports app for iPhone, adding support for CarPlay and new features for Formula 1 (F1) enthusiasts. The newest version, Apple Sports 3.10, represents the app’s initial integration with CarPlay, enabling users to retrieve sports information directly from their vehicle’s dashboard.

### Apple Sports on CarPlay

This update does not provide a standalone CarPlay app; however, it incorporates two small widgets that can be used within the CarPlay interface: My Teams and Leagues. These widgets allow quick access to preferred teams and league standings.

To set up these widgets, users need to go to the Settings app on their iPhone: Settings > General > CarPlay > My Car > Widgets. There, they can add the Sports app widgets to their CarPlay widget stack. The My Teams widget shows teams based on user preferences configured within the Sports app, while the Leagues widget can be tailored to display specific leagues by tapping the ā€œiā€ icon in the widget settings.

CarPlay can support one to three widget stacks, depending on the resolution of the car’s display. Users may be able to enable an additional widget stack by turning on Smart Display Zoom in the CarPlay settings.

Besides the CarPlay functionalities, the Sports app also includes medium and large versions of the My Teams and Leagues widgets for iPhone users.

### New F1 Features and World Cup Tracking

The update additionally introduces thrilling new features for F1 fans. Users can now check weather conditions for each Grand Prix, such as track temperature and wind speed, enriching the experience for followers of the races.

Moreover, the Sports app is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with new tracking options. Users can monitor their favorite teams and view group standings leading up to the tournament, which is scheduled to commence in June.

Apple Sports for iPhone is available at no cost on the App Store, making it readily available for sports enthusiasts wanting to keep up with their favorite teams and events.
