By connecting to Google Photos with Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature, users can generate images that align with their tastes and lifestyle. The feature allows Gemini to use data from apps like Google Photos and employ the Nano Banana 2 image model to create images based on personal context. Users can prompt it with things like “Design my dream house” or “Create a picture of my desert island essentials.” The generated photos automatically reflect their tastes and lifestyle, drawn from connected Google apps, according to a Google blog post. The integration uses labels in Google Photos to identify people such as friends and family, and then Nano Banana 2 creates the image, said spokesperson Elijah Lawal to The Verge.
Despite opting into Personal Intelligence, Google assures users that it will not directly train its AI models on private Google Photos libraries, though it trains on limited info like specific prompts in Gemini and model responses. This feature will be available to eligible AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the US over the next few days and will soon be accessible to Chrome desktop users and more.
