Google Expands Gemini to Chrome in Seven Additional Countries

1 Min Read

Google announced Monday the expansion of its Gemini in Chrome feature to seven new markets: Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. This feature is being introduced to both desktop and iOS in these countries, excluding Japan.

Since last year, the company has been progressively incorporating AI and Gemini into Chrome through a floating window.

Earlier this year, Google launched a sidebar-based assistant to assist users with queries across tabs, leveraging Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature. This allows users to connect to services like Gmail and Google Photos for personalized responses. Additionally, users can schedule meetings with Calendar, access location details with Maps, and draft and send emails via Gmail through this feature in Chrome.

Users can also edit web images using Nano Banana 2 in the sidebar.

Initially, in January, Gemini in Chrome was available to U.S. users and expanded to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March.

With the latest launch, Gemini in Chrome extends to more countries. However, its agentic feature, capable of controlling the browser to perform tasks automatically, is currently in testing and only accessible to AI Pro and AI Ultra paid plan users in the U.S.
