Google Meet to Use AI for In-Person Meeting Notes

AI summaries and transcripts for meetings are now available on Zoom and Teams. Google’s Gemini can generate summaries and transcripts for in-person and virtual meetings, extending beyond its exclusive use in Google Meets. Initially limited to alpha users and Android for in-person meetings, the feature now allows meetings to transition into video calls if a remote participant joins. Summaries and “action items” are created in Google Docs and saved to Google Drive. Users can start recording from the Google Meet home screen, regardless of the meeting platform or type.
