What is Connections?
The NYT’s new daily word game has become a hit on social media. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for helping to create and introduce the new word game to the Games section. Connections can be accessed via web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words sharing a common link.
Each puzzle includes 16 words grouped into four categories. These groups may include items like book titles, software, or country names, among others. Despite several words appearing related, there is only one correct solution.
Successfully identifying all four words in a set removes them from the board. Wrong guesses count as mistakes, with a limit of four before the game ends.
Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to spot connections more easily. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, results can be shared with friends on social media.
