A new app called Indigo launches today, allowing users to explore the open social web across various services within a single platform. As decentralized social media gains popularity, individuals seek more control over their algorithms, feeds, and moderation choices. Options include using Mastodon’s decentralized servers or joining Bluesky, operating on the AT Protocol.
Indigo merges these networks, providing a unified timeline synced across devices and enabling cross-posting to both services simultaneously. Developed by Soapbox Software, the app builds on their previous tool, Croissant, and adds features for a comprehensive user experience on open social networks.
Indigo differentiates Bluesky and Mastodon posts with color-coded profiles and offers features like auto-scrolling, NSFW content hiding, muting, filtering, dark mode, and more. Users can access custom feeds, track notifications, and perform universal searches across both networks.
A subscription of $4.99/month or $34.99/year is required for cross-posting, syncing timelines, and tracking trends, with a one-time purchase option of $119.99 also available. Indigo is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
