Alienware is making OLED more accessible with the release of its new 27-inch gaming monitor, the AW2726DM. Announced on April 14, the display sports a vivid QHD (2,560 x 1,440) QD-OLED screen for an unexpectedly affordable price of $349.99. It’s currently available on Dell’s website.

OLED technology offers high contrast and deep black levels, and QD-OLED (quantum dot OLED) tech offers even brighter and more colorful displays, although typically at a higher cost. Mashable’s Leah Stodart, who specializes in OLED TVs, notes that the AW2726DM is well-suited for gaming in well-lit rooms.

Typically, OLED and QD-OLED gaming monitors from renowned brands like Asus, Dell, LG, MSI, and Samsung are at least $500, except during sales, according to Best Buy. Previously, Alienware’s QD-OLED monitors started at $549.99, as seen with the 27-inch AW2725D from mid-2025.

Alienware AW2726DM gaming monitor specs:

The AW2726DM features a 0.03ms response time and a smooth 240Hz refresh rate. It has a versatile stand that is tiltable, swivelable, and height-adjustable, supporting both horizontal and vertical use. Additional specifications include a 16:9 aspect ratio, 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles, 111ppi pixel density, DCI-P3 99 percent color gamut, and AMD FreeSync Premium support. It comes equipped with two HDMI ports supporting up to 120Hz refresh rates, one DisplayPort supporting up to 240Hz, a security lock slot, a headphone jack, and a three-year OLED burn-in warranty.

In contrast, last year’s AW2725D had a superior 280Hz refresh rate, a brighter screen, two extra USB ports, and support for up to 280Hz over both its HDMI ports and DisplayPort, justifying its higher price. It also supported Nvidia’s G-Sync technology, enabling it to match its refresh rate with Nvidia GeForce GPUs’ framerates for minimized stuttering and screen tearing. The newer, more affordable AW2726DM monitor offers similar capabilities only with AMD Radeon GPUs via AMD FreeSync Premium.

In 2026, Alienware is not only making gaming monitors more affordable; they are also introducing an entry-level gaming laptop at their “most accessible price point yet,” according to a blog post, expected later this year following its preview at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
