Do you come from a Land Down Under? By Haley Henschel on May 6, 2026.
Pokémon Pokopia has been a huge hit for Nintendo, prompting interest in buying a $450 Switch 2 just to play it. In response, Nintendo announced a Switch 2 + Pokémon Pokopia bundle at a discount. Unfortunately, it’s only available in Australia and New Zealand from June 5. Preorders are accepted starting May 6 at My Nintendo Store for AU$769.95 or NZ$869.95, saving AU$39.95 or NZ$49.95. You need a Nintendo Account set to these countries to buy it. Those outside Australasia face challenges acquiring it due to shipping limitations, with pick-up only at Victoria’s Parts and Repairs Store in Nintendo Australia.
Australasian retailers like Costco and JB Hi-Fi will offer the bundle “soon,” but worldwide release details are unconfirmed. The bundle lacks exclusives and features a standard Switch 2 console, unlike previous themed bundles. While the bundle appears cost-efficient, travel costs negate savings for non-residents, unless travel is planned. Pokémon Pokopia’s appeal may justify purchasing the Switch 2 as more exclusives are expected, but for others, buying separately remains the practical option.
