Samsung’s One UI 9 Leak Unveils Insights on Forthcoming Foldable Devices
Details about Samsung’s next foldable gadgets have unintentionally come to light through a leak within its One UI 9 software. The leak verifies the presence of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, along with a new variant, the Wide Fold, codenamed H8. The Wide Fold is crafted to be shorter and broader, featuring a cover display that resembles a conventional smartphone instead of a slender strip. This design modification responds to frequent feedback regarding the narrow cover screens found in earlier models.
The rear camera layout of the Wide Fold reflects that of the Galaxy S25 Edge, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 keeps a design akin to its predecessor, the Z Fold 7. In spite of the similar outer appearance, the Z Fold 8 is projected to include substantial internal advancements, such as a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired charging, boosting its appeal in terms of battery performance.
These devices are expected to be unveiled in July, fitting into Samsung’s usual mid-summer release rhythm.
