You’re getting a pretty good deal either way.
Samsung now offers cheaper versions of last year’s foldable phones, though “cheaper” is subjective. On Wednesday, the Korean tech giant announced the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, two phones favored by Mashable last year, are available as refurbished models in their “Re-Newed” program. Refurbished Fold and Flip phones are listed on Samsung’s website, with prices starting at $1,699 and $939 respectively. Based on suggested retail prices, this reflects discounts of $300 and $160.
However, as noted by 9to5Google, Samsung is selling a new Galaxy Z Fold 7 for $1,599, which is less than the refurbished version with the same features. Similarly, the new Flip 7 is priced at $899, slightly cheaper than its refurbished counterpart. Though the discounted prices for new models might be temporary, it seems a bit odd for the new phone to be cheaper than the refurbished one.
Regardless, you’re still getting a discount compared to their original launch prices. And both phones are high-quality foldable devices. If you’re interested, now might be a good time to buy one.
