TL;DR: Amazon is offering the Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 (G51F) QHD gaming monitor for $159.99, reduced from its $249.99 list price. That’s a $90 saving on a 1440p gaming display.
If you’ve been waiting to upgrade your gaming setup from standard HD, Amazon has a great deal to help you make the switch to QHD. As of May 13, the Samsung 27-inch Odyssey G5 (G51F) QHD gaming monitor is on sale for $159.99 on Amazon, down from its list price of $249.99, saving you 36%. This is the lowest price recorded for this monitor on Amazon (confirmed via price tracker camelcamelcamel).
For this new low price, the Odyssey G5 offers a 27-inch QHD display with a 2560×1440 resolution, which Samsung says provides 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD. This should result in sharper graphics for any game, whether you’re playing multiplayer games like Fortnite or embarking on new single-player adventures such as 007 First Light.
The more time you spend gaming, the more this model’s speed becomes apparent. Its 180Hz refresh rate is designed for smoother gameplay compared to the standard 60Hz or 75Hz displays (great for high-speed games such as Overwatch and Marvel Rivals), and the 1ms MPRT response time keeps inputs responsive during intense matches. AMD FreeSync is also included to help minimize screen tearing and choppiness.
To enhance the G51F monitor, Samsung added some premium PC features, including HDR10 for brighter highlights and deeper shadows, along with Black Equalizer to see enemies in dark areas. You also get Virtual Aim Point and Auto Source Switch+ for an additional advantage, while the ergonomic stand supports tilt, pivot, and height adjustments.
If you’ve got the budget for a bigger and more advanced model, LG’s 39-inch OLED and curved UltraGear monitor is now available for just $749.99. Additionally, the 4K ASUS ROG Swift is $200 off.
