Here’s an update on my Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream island: I married Dua Lipa, whom I added to the island intending for her to fall for my friend Nick, who is a fan. At the wedding, Nick, dressed as a cowboy, played guitar and sang, showcasing the strength of our friendship despite any jealousy. Meanwhile, my friend Curt suffers from an unrequited crush on Sonic the Hedgehog. Stewie Griffin and Eric Cartman also love each other, although neither has confessed yet. I hope for their happiness.

This is typical of Tomodachi Life on the Nintendo Switch. You create a collection of Miis, perform minimal daily tasks to keep them content and unlock new features, and then events unfold independently. Although it sometimes doesn’t feel like a conventional game, its fun is undeniable.

As a long-anticipated sequel to Tomodachi Life on 3DS, Living the Dream has high expectations. While not every beloved feature of the 3DS version made it to the Switch, Nintendo has expanded on the original vision in exciting ways, making this sequel worth the wait.
