The Toradex Zinnia is an industrial IoT gateway built on the company’s Verdin system-on-module and is equipped with either an NXP or Texas Instruments SoC. It offers dual Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5, options for 4G LTE or 5G connectivity, several USB ports, I/O connectors, and a power supply range of 9-36V.
The initial model employs the NXP i.MX 8M Plus SoM with 4GB LPDDR5 memory and 32GB eMMC flash, preloaded with the company’s Torizon OS Linux. Alternative SoM options include models based on the TI AM62/AM62P, NXP i.MX 8M Mini, or NXP iMX 95. This gateway is aimed at edge AI applications, industrial automation, smart cities, and energy infrastructure.

The Zinnia Gateway comes with Torizon OS, an embedded Linux distribution based on the Yocto Project, offering features like OTA updates and fleet management, while complying with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
With several i.MX 8M Plus-based AIoT/IoT gateways available, such as the Geniatech AP880 and Compulab IOT-DIN-IMX8PLUS, Toradex claims its Zinnia gateway simplifies deployment due to comprehensive management by Toradex, aside from application-level tasks managed by customers.
Zinnia Gateways will be available starting June 2026, with continued availability until at least 2036. Pricing details are not disclosed, as they may vary based on software requirements. More information is available on the product page.
