NBC has approved a Wordle game show to be hosted by Savannah Guthrie, expected to debut in 2027. The format, derived from The New York Times’ popular puzzle game, will feature teams solving five-letter word puzzles in a dynamic, collaborative setting. Universal Television Alternative Studio will produce the show in association with Jimmy Fallon’s production company and the NYT. Casting is open for teams of three until May 29th at 8PM ET. Jimmy Fallon’s company, Electric Hot Dog, was involved in NBC’s pilot of the Wordle show, as reported by Deadline last year.
