The Unidays verification system is being reinstated for US education customers. As of May 8, 2026, Apple is mandating US customers to verify their eligibility for education discounts, which now include the Apple Watch, through Unidays’ verification service — a practice already established in countries like the UK. The Unidays service is also being extended to Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Turkey, and Chile, allowing verification via email, photo ID, or valid academic documents. This system is designed to prevent misuse of discounted pricing, previously accessible to anyone in the US through the online education store. It’s Apple’s second attempt at Unidays verification for US, after a short-lived introduction four years ago. The latest change allows education customers to buy Apple Watch models at a discounted rate, offering up to 10 percent off on the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
