Threads Tests Meta AI Integration Similar to Grok

1 Min Read

Threads is trialing a Meta AI feature similar to X’s Grok. Users with public accounts can tag Meta AI in posts or replies for extra context. Currently in beta in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina, and Singapore, the feature aims to provide real-time context and recommendations within discussions. Users can inquire about topics like the World Cup, Met Gala trends, or sports updates. Meta AI replies are public, authored by @meta.ai, and in the language of the original post. Threads aims to be a hub for both news discussions and information sourcing without exiting the app. Similar to Grok on X, Meta AI offers insights but with stronger safeguards. Users can mute, use “Not interested,” or hide Meta AI replies to see fewer in their feed. Meta plans to refine the feature based on feedback before broader rollout.
