Airbnb has introduced new features to its app, including luggage storage, car hire booking, and a voice mode for its AI assistant. Announced in a blog post, these changes expand Airbnb’s presence in the travel booking market. The AI assistant will gain a voice feature this year, allowing users to interact with it like a phone call. An AI-powered comparison tool for accommodation will also be added, helping users compare options based on location and amenities. Over the past year, Airbnb has added services like airport pickups, grocery deliveries, makeup artists, photographers, and catered meals. Soon, it will offer Bounce luggage storage and car hire in select cities, based on proximity to accommodations. A new travel map feature will let users show where they have stayed, while revealing any previous negative reviews to friends. Independent and boutique hotels can now list on the app. This travel booking market includes competitors like TikTok.
