Though Bungie plans to stop major updates for Destiny 2, they continue in the live-service space with the game Marathon, released earlier this year. Bungie hints at working on a new project outside the Destiny universe, expressing excitement about exploring future opportunities. Sony acquired Bungie for $3.6 billion in 2022. Despite some struggles, including layoffs and delays, the studio maintains a commitment to creating exciting games.
