**Apple and Porsche Honor Milestones with Historic Racing Partnership**

This weekend signifies an important occasion in the realms of motorsport and technology as Formula 1 makes its return to the United States with the Miami Grand Prix, which will be broadcast on Apple TV. At the same time, Apple and Porsche are celebrating their enduring collaboration with a unique anniversary race car design that will be featured at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Laguna Seca, California, on May 3.

Porsche has revealed its partnership with Apple to replicate the distinctive appearance of the Porsche 935 K3 race car, which received sponsorship from Apple in 1980. This exclusive livery will be displayed on two Porsche race cars during the IMSA event, honoring two significant milestones: the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport and the 50th anniversary of Apple.

The Porsche factory team will present this historic Apple Computer-inspired design at Laguna Seca, where the Porsche 935 K3 took part in major competitions, including the illustrious 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1980 season. The design pays tribute to the original livery that first showcased the Apple logo on a race car, marking the inception of a mutual enthusiasm for innovation and creativity between the two brands.

Oliver Schusser, Vice President of Apple Music, Sports, and Beats, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “We’ve enjoyed a lengthy relationship with Porsche, dating back to 1980 when a Porsche race car first displayed the Apple logo. The timing of this collaboration is especially significant, as it aligns with a leadership transition at Apple, with John Ternus assuming the role of new CEO. Ternus has personal experience piloting Porsche race cars around Laguna Seca, creating a unique link to the occasion.
