Astronauts aboard the ISS will receive HP ZBook Fury G9 laptops customized for their needs. According to a recent NASA announcement, the Expedition 74 crew will upgrade their computer systems, starting with network servers before transitioning to the new laptops. NASA spokesperson Joshua Finch confirmed the selection of the HP ZBook G9 Mobile Workstation for the space station. The customized ZBook Fury G9 includes an Intel Core Ultra 9 vPro HX processor, Nvidia RTX Pro Blackwell GPU, 128GB of DDR5 memory, and four 2TB NVMe SSDs. Additionally, a “NASA-exclusive” power adapter is required due to the ISS’s DC power system. HP confirmed over 100 of its workstations and specialized printers are already being used on the ISS. The 35 new laptops are the third generation of HP platforms on the space station, which is scheduled to be de-orbited in 2030.
