Apple TV has formally revealed that Brian Tyree Henry will be joining the ensemble of “Running,” a forthcoming feature film from Apple Original Films directed by Gavin O’Connor. This film revolves around a homeless high school running prodigy striving for greatness while leveraging his abilities to escape his troubled history and search for a sense of family.

Brian Tyree Henry, recognized for his celebrated performances, will star alongside Spike Fearn, who takes on the lead role of the young runner. This partnership signifies Henry’s third venture with Apple, following his remarkable performances in “Causeway,” which garnered him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and “Dope Thief,” where he earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

The screenplay for “Running” is written by Bill Dubuque, who has previously collaborated with O’Connor on “The Accountant 2.” The film is at present in the initial phases of production, and a release date has yet to be specified.
