Skye, an iPhone app currently in private testing, aims to transform smartphone AI interaction. Even before its launch, it has garnered online interest, investors, and “tens of thousands” of users, indicating a demand for a more AI-savvy iPhone.
The startup is creating an “agentic homescreen” using iOS widgets as the interface, instead of a traditional app or chatbot. Skye aims to provide ambient intelligence through widgets, offering personalized insights about weather, context, health, and more. It can draft emails, aid in meeting preparation, send reminders, and flag suspicious bank charges. The app also offers location-specific recommendations and information on local businesses and attractions. This data is accessed through user-authorized connections.
Built by a small team from Signull Labs, Skye has attracted investors despite no public product. An SEC filing reveals it raised over $3.58 million in pre-seed funding with a round closing in September 2025. Pitchbook lists Signull Labs’ funding with a post-money valuation of $19.5 million.
Announcing on X, signüll, identified as Nirav Savjani from SEC filings, claims “tens of thousands” have joined the app’s waitlist, indicating strong interest in AI-centric iPhones. This response suggests potential for new AI devices, like a rumored OpenAI smartphone.
A tweet from signüll highlighted the strong response to their announcement, including numerous views and additions to the waitlist.
TechCrunch discussed the product and funding with signüll, whose name is public in SEC filings. Savjani has past roles at Google and Meta but no LinkedIn presence. Skye’s backers include a16z, True Ventures, SV Angel, and other individuals, with Signull Labs listed in Offline Ventures’ online portfolio.
Savjani appeared on the TBPN podcast as his avatar and has posted about using the app on X.
He informed TechCrunch that Skye plans to launch soon to its waitlist, without specifying details.
