Discord Nitro subscribers are about to receive a limited version of Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft teased a Discord and Xbox Game Pass partnership, and now a leak has revealed what’s coming. Discord Previews discovered a new Xbox Game Pass “Starter Edition” packaged with Discord Nitro.
This Starter Edition reportedly offers access to over 50 games from the Game Pass library, 10 hours of Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming per month, and the ability to earn Xbox Rewards points while gaming. Specific games in the lineup appear to include Stardew Valley, Grounded, and Fallout 4.
The Starter Edition isn’t restricted to Microsoft’s own Xbox games. Developer redphx also discovered the Xbox Game Pass (Starter Edition), noting that many third-party games will be available as well.
In February, it was reported that Microsoft is exploring ways to bundle third-party services with Game Pass. The new Starter Edition seemingly facilitates this bundling. Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters mentioned in The Information about discussing subscription bundles, hinting at a potential similar Game Pass partnership with Netflix soon.
