Google is set to begin the developer conference season with Google I/O 2026 on Tuesday, May 19. You can watch the keynote livestream at 10:00 a.m. PT or join the Mashable and CNET live viewing party on YouTube. Mashable tech reporters will be providing real-time updates from Mountain View, California.
Historically, Google I/O has focused on the latest Android updates. However, this year, Google artificial intelligence is predicted to be the primary focus, with Gemini being integrated across all Google products. We’ve previously discussed what to expect from Google I/O 2026, but to summarize, we’re anticipating a new Gemini model and updates to AI products like Nano Banana, Veo, Gemma, and Lyria. Google is also expected to announce updates to Chrome, Android, Google Search, and Workspace apps such as Gemini, Sheets, and Docs.
Additionally, we hope to get a closer look at the upcoming Android XR glasses, scheduled for release later this year. Keep checking this page for all the latest Google I/O news.
