In the opening scene of the final trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the little guy is meditating in a forest, reminiscent of a scene from Empire Strikes Back. Directed and co-written by The Mandalorian series creator Jon Favreau, alongside Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni, the movie features bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) as he makes his big-screen debut. He allies with an early New Republic and Colonel Ward (Sigourney Weaver) to bring Imperial war criminals to justice. The film occurs after Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens. Revealed at CinemaCon, the action-packed trailer showcases classic Star Wars battles across various planets and a herd of AT-ATs, suggesting a final adventure for our heroes. The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in cinemas on May 22, 2026.
