Motorola Just Revealed the Razr Fold’s Price, and Hoo Boy

I was interested in a book-style Moto foldable, but not at a price of $1,900.

2026 is looking challenging for launching high-end phones due to the memory crisis driving prices up, making an already pricey phone possibly too expensive. This might be affecting the Razr Fold, set to sell for $1,900 in the US starting May 14th, excluding the $100 cost for the Moto Pen Ultra stylus.

Motorola had hinted at the Fold’s features since its CES preview, suggesting it wouldn’t be the budget-friendly foldable many want. Today’s news confirms its price, fitting between the $1,800 Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the $2,000 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This places the Razr Fold in an awkward position. It’s thinner and lighter than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but doesn’t have the Pixel’s full dust resistance. Rated IP48/IP49, it’s protected against “small particles.” The Galaxy Z Fold 7 isn’t dust-resistant either, but is slightly slimmer than the Razr.

One potential advantage is a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, offering a larger capacity than its competitors. While the Fold 7 and 10 Pro Fold’s battery life is adequate, the Razr Fold’s could be impressive. Although not the first for a book-style foldable, it would be the first for one sold in North America.

I’ve seen the Razr Fold a few times, so it’s good to finally know its price. But questions remain: Does it fulfill the promise of better battery life at $1,900 in this economy? Motorola sure hopes so.
